Type Example

Talking recently about the cuneiform had me thinking about a close to home way of using images to communicate. We have multiple ranches that were indian lands during indian territory so you can find many treasures. We believe that these were probably done by Ed Galloway who did the Totem Pole. It is close to the representations of the ones on the side of the totem pole.

The first one is because of the trees behind this fort building. It is the stump which shows the amount of rings that were on the tree or maybe about the fertile years of the trees (they were pecan trees). There are multiple of these around the building so it has to be a way of counting.
Here is another symbol on the side of a wall, It was on the side of a building that probably held potted plants in the barn during the winter. Also shows irises, which there are usually some there in the spring.

Here is my favorite piece, the fish is hanging from the tree that are around. The leaves are the same as the tree grove behind it. It was once painted purple, but it is going away quickly. The eye is made of some type of marble. This is special because there used to be a creek that had fish in it behind this area, but throughout erosion it has been dry for quiet a few years.

Ideas:
On the poster I want to use the elements of the apes environment. I am going to use the wood as a border to hold my sponsor logos, I am also going to use the string of the apes to help fuel the idea of string lights. I decided I would do an illuminated string of lights with a light in the middle holding a couple dancing. Text will be floating around it. I thought of putting multiple scenes in each bulb. As I am designing I will look into those decisions.

I started my project by building a fence with the sponsorships sitting on top of it. I knew my project would be top heavy so I added the fence to counter balance the heaviness of the top.

Next I started adding some text to the document that I knew I would be working with.

I hung a string of lights in the background to seem like they were far away.

I thought I wanted light bulb shapes on the closer strings of lights.
After I put them on there they looked out of place, so I started recreating the circles lights at a higher size.

I repeated my form of the lights. Added the middle circles with the information and started working with my text again.
The original purple I chose seemed to be to dull for the sign, so I added the color contrast to the fence and this will also be the color of the text.
I strung my text across the top for the headline.

I added a line of text of the event details and put the address and web address back on the paper. I changed the sizes of the original circles to be more drastic in size

I didn't like the way the address and web stood out so I adjusted my fence up and tucked it underneath the bottom of the logo sponsorships.

Other Variations of the monkeys in different positions showing them hanging off the lights.
Version 1: Minimize to one monkey on the left and put logo in the lights.
Version 2: Hang both on the line

Version 6: Moved down on the line
Version 7: Moved to one monkey

Added the text outer glow, did not care for it so I removed it for the end result.

On the final version I added back the other monkey and moved the text around.
